I have almost no power at high rpms, or when I take off in first. After changing the gasket I re-colortuned the bike. Idles great, hell, better than ever, but now from 1100 to 2000 rpms and from 6000 and up it feels so.... sluggish. Really its over the entire rpm scale, but thats when its most noticeable. The carbs were cleaned and synced before i changed the gasket, and the bike is completely stock. I tried to search the forums and found nothing. Please XJ bros. HELP ME!!!!!

Have you checked the compression since changing the gasket?
While the head was off, did you lap the valves? Check the clearance??

I didn't check compression, valves, or clearance. I'll recheck the timing tomorrow and get back to yall. I'd do it tonight, but all my tools are at work.

Ya, timing may be it, 1 tooth off is hard to tell. But when its dead on it's obvious. (If that makes sense)

Prolly Hard to tell, but from the symptoms, with is the more likely culprit, exhaust, or intake?

Maybe you were just having nicotine cravings the whole time?
