    So here it goes!!!!!!!

Bike never smoked since I got it. This year I decide to put a small quantity of Seafoam in the crank case let it run and change my oil. So I do let it run for 10 minutes and start to drain the oil when I get to the filter bolt it got stripped even worst then it was so I cannot remove the filter housing. And I'm wondering if its smoking because of the seafoam or just oil burning. I have not got around to get the bolt off yet it will be done this weekend and get a new oil change done. What is everyone's advice on this. Seafoam or burning oil. It smokes only when I really open the throttles. It does not smoke when idling.

So this video is last year before storing not smoking

And this is a video I just did tonight smoking

    Thanks to all

White smoke is oil burning, I suspect the seafoam thinned your oil a bit and it is blowing by the rings. change the oil and holefully all will return to normal. Did the head of the filter bolt strip off or are the threads stripped? If the head is stripped there are several ways to get it off.
Old socket that fits tight and hammer it onto the bolt.
Weld a old socket onto the bolt.
There are other ways but either of those two usually work for me.

My last-resort method is to break the filter housing away, visegrips and channellocks on the bolt assembly, then replace the messed up bolt and replace the housing, but then I have had the fortune of having some parts bikes to do that with. Once you put the new parts on, DON"T overtighten them and you'll never have trouble again.

Gotta get that seafoam OUT of there...Personally, I wouldn't be riding it at all with seafoam in the oil.

IF it's the bold head that is stripped and IF... you've tried everything and you get to the point of smashing the cover... Here's at least two last things to try...

Hopefully your or the PO's wrenching has left the head a tad oblong. If not, last thing #1 to try is to use a small pipe wrench and find a pipe to slide over the end to use as a breaker bar. The tighter you turn, the more it bites down on the bolt.

If that isn't doing it for you... Last try #2...

go to your hardware store or your magic junk box and find a nut that will be able to screw down on the rounded head. Get one that actually can bite into the metal but you also want a bit of an oblong shape to the rounded part. A dremmel with a cutting blade will help make an oblong bolt head for you. The idea is to have that large nut be able to be twisted down to the flat part of the bolt.

Now that you have done that, get some degreaser like carb cleaner or starting ether and clean off the rounded bolt and the flat washer like base. Clean off the nut so it too is metal, no oil. Then mix up some liquid JB weld and put some on the rounded head and tighten the nut all the way down so the base of it squeezes some JB weld from the bottom of the nut/bolt interface.

Now put more of that JB weld in the two holes that are inside the nut (remember, you made the rounded bolt oblong so now there are two gaps on opposing sides of the rounded bolt head & ID of the nut...)

Fill them both in and use duct tape to keep the JB weld from leaking out as it will want to drip... Do what you have to to assure there is JB weld completely filling in those two gaps and walk away for 12 hours or more so it can cure 100%.

If you did it right and you mixed properly and there is a well cured JB weld, you have a solid head on that bolt with a much larger size to it. Now you can unscrew it because that JB weld in those two gaps is not going to compress and you are now home free.

    YMMV...

Ummm.... maybe I missed something, but why don't you just drain the oil, put a couple and a half of fresh liters in it, and screw the filter for now until you can get it off?

Won't hurt a thing. You aren't supposed to keep the Seafoam in it for long (3 oz should be the most you put in, right?). And then you will know if you cleaned out a plug, so to speak, or if your seafoam is burning off.

Get the filter off after you get the seafoam out.
