    Hey everyone.

I now have a 1983 XJ1100 Maxim up and running. It has been saftied and is on the road. All I still want is a windsheild (does anyone know what fits good on these bikes) and a new 4 to 2 exhaust (I don't care for my 4 to 1). I hear the MAC Exhausts are quite loud, I am looking for more of a sewing machine sound. Any Exhaust ideas?

This is what it took to get to this point.

    1) Fix the 2nd gear in the gear box.
    2) Rebuild the carburetors.
    3) Rebuild all things brake related (also rerouted the brakes to work like a normal bike (used stainless steel lines).
    4) Did the fork seals (replaced a bent fork that looked like buddy try to straighten it)
    5) Replaced a bent steering head (buddy must of driven this thing into a wall)
    6) Treated the gas tank with POR15 to fix a rust problem.
Fixed a lack of spark problem

And there you have it. A fast and furious xj1100 on the road.

Thanks to everyone (and there were a lot of ya) who helped me through this whole process. The people on this site are amazing!!!

    Good luck

Stock exhaust is what you need. If you find a replacement exhaust I could use the 4 to 1 that you have. I have another XJ project to put it on.

I am looking for a 4 into 1. I have a stock setup if you wanted to make a trade plus some money on my end...

    Hey JeffDodge,

If the stock exhaust if off of your 650 then I don't think it will fix my 1100. The 1100 has a bigger frame than the 650.
