hi! i used to belong to the site, and the old mail list yrs ago. i got my bike back from my dad, so i'm back on the list. i have an 83 midnight maxim(750) and i'm wondering if a standard maxim seat will fit? i know that the seat is shaped different, but the stock seat is really uncomfortable. i want something flat. thanks!

I have an XJ550 and I had a local upolstry guy rebuild my seat as per my requirements. Some guys specialize in bike seats. The result is worth it.

    Cheers, Doug

I've had two seats done now by Sargent's in Florida. One a "stock recover" and one a recontour with added foam, etc.

Excellent workmanship, reasonable prices, good people to work with.

    Highly recommended.

I had an 82 maxim and the 83 midnight. Seats swapped with no problems.

So dig up another seat off eBay for $20 (or less, I paid $10 for the best one I have) and have THAT redone.
