Is there anyway of identifying the manufacture of a four to one exhaust and muffler? The PO I bought the bike from bought it with the four to one already on it and has no idea as to the make. So are there usually any identifying markings and if so where would I look.

The mac exhaust won't have markings. It is a chrome system (which could be rusted) with a megaphone style muffler. It will have a straight mounting bracket which attaches the muffler to the rear foot-peg mount. There will also be an L shaped bracket on the opposite side of the bike which is a center-stand retention stop. I bought the mac so really only know about the mac. I have seen a black exhaust for these bikes but forgot who it was made by.

A picture is going to be the only way any of us can help. Even then it may be tough,
I doubt it's a Kerker as everyone I have seen is marked a such. My Mac 4-1 has black headers and a chrome "cherry bomb" style can. While the Kerker that it replaced was completley chrome with a megaphone can.

How many different manufacturers of aftermarket exhaust are there?

Ok, I'll take some pic's of the exhaust and post them. But it has black pipes and a chrome muffler and loud.

If its flat black paint and a brushed aluminum can it could also be Spec2 exhaust.

I am posting the pictures to the Photo Gallery because for some reason I am unable to post them to the forum.

Yes there's a bit of surface rust and some polishing that needs to be taken care of. And I need to replace rear brakes.

I can't be 100% sure, but that looks exactly like the Mac that I just installed on my Seca.

If the Exhaust Header Collars are 100% Cheese-ee.
The four Down Pipes as Blue as the sky in Summer.
    It's a "Jardine".

If you can't possibly get it to fit right, no matter what you have tried?
    It's a "SuperTrap"

I gotta second the Mac vote.
Same header collars and can with the baffle plate riveted in the same position.

Is there an L shaped stop bracket for the center stand mounted on the left side?

Nope I don't see any stop bracket. But that doesn't mean there shouldn't bee one. It could have been left off by the PO. By the looks of the amount of oil that has leaked out from under the valve cover gasket it was never replaced untill I did the valve shims.
