Broken exhaust stud...

    It wont be hard to get this one out of the head, however to replace it, are they easy to find? Cheap, I hope?

    If anyone knows, I would love to know before I head to the local motorcycle shop tomorrow.

    Steel studs are not hard to find. I usually source mine from Ace Hardware or similar store.

    Chacal's got them. I ordered a new set of studs and nuts awhile back. They weren't much about $10 for the 8 of them. Though you probably can source them locally.

    Or if you want send my your address and I'll drop a few in the mail to you. I took the old ones out because they would come out and replaced with new ones. Though there's nothing wrong with them that I know of.

    They use "Studs" ... for the Build.

    You may replace them with any Fastener on the Market.

    Hardened Cap Screws treated with Anti-Seize Compound look very nice.

    Did I mention, ... AntiSeize Compound!

    I put the 5 I could still find with the nuts in a bag in an evelope and in my mail box.

    I would think for a few of the places bolts would be more difficult to get started into the head properly.

    You maybe right on that... on a side note, how to get the broken one out... its stuck in there pretty good. It sticks out about an inch or so, but its STUCK. Tried PB blaster, let it soak overnight and still nothing. Any advice there?

    nix that request. Tried a little heat from the map gas torch and it came right out.

    If you are fortunate enough to be able to extract all the Exhaust Studs, ... Get rid of them and substitute a high-quality hardened fastener ... preferably after running a well-greased Tap into each of the threaded holes.

    Treat the new fastener with a generous amount of Anti-seize Compound.

    Same for the Intake Cap Screws.
    If you're lucky.

    Makes it a whole lot easier to get things apart when it comes time to do the Starter Clutch.
