Hi guys, I have been sent a used TCI for my '83 XJ900, but it is different from the original, can anyone tell me if this will work, I won't plug it in 'till I know.
    Original # TDI14-37....58L-10
    Replacement. TDI14-02....4H7-10
    Original has 4 pins & 6 pins
Replacement has the same size connectors, one large & one small, but the large one only has 4 pins.
    Thanks Wiz.....

That's for a 1980-81 XJ650 model (non-YICS)......lacking two pins since there was no sidestand safety relay used with those bikes........will probably "work" (as in, "allow the engine to run"), but, not run real well......

These 900s over here didn't have the sidestand cut off switch, so it might be OK, I will check again with the supplier (an xj bikes member) before I try it.
    Thanks Len.

According to parts books, only the 900RK and 900F models have the sidestand switches..............which is really odd, but that's what the Parts Bibles say........

Just to add further confusion, mine does not have a side stand switch. It does have a clutch switch, so I have to pull in the clutch lever every time I start it.
