Have been working on a rust bucket and have sort of finished it now, but there are two things which I am struggling to deal with

1/ The nuetral gear light does not want to come on, have checked the bulb.

2/ The Turbo does not kick in, the booster gauge does not show any movement at all.

So if anyone has any ideas please let me know, can't find anyone to look at the turbo either, so need to do what I can

How does the bike run? If it doesn't feel like a jet engine has suddenly been lit after about 7,000 rpm's, then the Turbo is probably not operating properly. The turbo unit may need to be rebuilt........

The turbo does not kick in at all from what I can make out, nothing at all, bike runs apart from no turbo or light on the nuetral gear lever.
Can't find anyone to deal with the turbo problem.

Get out a few tools and your can of KROIL, and remove the left muffler.
Get a pencil. See if the turbine turns with the eraser.
A good turbine will turn with the sharpened LEAD of the pencil.

It's a Mitsubishi - compatible turbo, easy to source out a shop to do the rebuild.
And Welcome to the site. Rear brakes !!

One more thing to check while you have that muffler off:
Try wiggling the turbo shaft. If it has any sideways play in it, the bearing is probably toast... The main symptom of a failing turbo is lack of power at high RPM, and inability to get the engine close to redline in gear.

The turbo should spin a little bit even at idle. You should start seeing the boost gauge move at about 5K RPM. At 9K, it should be hovering near the red mark.... You will not see the boost gauge move at all in neutral. You will not feel much in first gear. Second and up - you should feel a surge at about 6K, and hold on for dear life from there to redline.

Check and make sure that the boost sensor (under the breather box) hose is connected to the nipple on the carbs, between 1st and 2nd carb bodies, I believe.

Your neutral switch may be bad. It's screwed into the bottom of the engine, next to the oil pan, on the left side. You'll see a terminal post with a philips screw and a wire coming off of it. You can try grounding that wire to the engine with a screwdriver (key on, engine off). If the neutral light comes on, the switch is shot. To replace it, you will have to remove the exhaust collector, and possibly jack the engine up a bit. I just took a short socket (14mm I believe) and ground it on a bench grinder so the walls were really thin, and it fit without having to mess with the engine mounts, though it still put up a bit of a fight.

We just had a turbo unit rebuilt by Majestic Turbo out of Texas, and they did a fantastic job. Cost about $330... The bike runs like a top now.

  Gets better, when now trying to start all I get is buzz buzz, then if I pull in the clutch she turns over but won't start

Fires engine turns over but nothing happens.

Do I give up and go back to a Goldwing?  Want this baby to run like she did in 1982, when I 1st had one.

Guys thanks for all the advice so far and the speed of it

Problem is I am in the UK, and so far can't find anyone who wants to assist hence I will have to try myself as much as possible.

Unplug the lone pink wire at the TCI and see if it starts.

Also... There are two pairs of connectors in the headlight bucket that will interchange, but with funny electrical results... They're similar in color, but not quite the same. A dead neutral switch is one of the symptoms of mixing them up.... DAMHIKT.
