Jetting a xj 550 seca

    ok dudes & dudetts, im gonna remove the rusted mufflers on my project xj500 cafefighter & replace them with a pair of dunstall mufflers ive got laying around. im gonna run a k&n filter in the airbox. somebody give my a ballpark guess on what main jets to run. maybe 2 sizes up from stock ? just looking for a place to start. thanks for any info. :D

    +1. I thought the same thing when I built my pvc plenum with single pod filter and removed my mufflers on my cafe-bob 550. I waited until I saw & felt how it ran and turns out I didn't need to rejet. Still need a rebuild & sync but it's running great.

    thanks guys, i am gonna run it first but didnt know if anyone had gone this route & needed changes. im sure the fuel screw will need turned out another turn or so. im really looking forward to getting this bike on the road. ive owned everything but a inline 4 yamaha. i road a couple back in the day & remember really liking them. this thing is gonna rip up the twistys around here ! :twisted:
