My flasher relay is broke and I do not want to spend $110 for a new one! I Know there must be a way to just use a regular relay. It doesn't matter to me if the self canceller works or not. Any Ideas?

What kind of "broke?" Are you aware that you can pop the lid off and clean/adjust the contacts?

Pretty much any generic automotive flasher relay will work if you're not worried about the self-canceler.

Which bike? $110 seems a tad high, did you check with chacal?

My bike is a 1980 xj650. When I try to turn the turn signal on, I get a buzzing noise with no response on the lights. The bulbs are fine. Is there a way to test the relay? will try to clean the contacts and see what happens.

If cleaning contacts etc doens't help, just get one from an autoparts store. Any generic 2 pole relay should fit right in. $5-$10

YOu could also try and unplug the autocancel box. Mine would light up but not flash with my new turn signals (not LED). I unplugged the auto cancel and it works fine.
