Swingarm removal

    Looking for insight from anyone who's removed the swingarm on a '83 XJ750. Thanks in advance guys

    Simple enough.

    Take off the round covers on both sides.

    On the left side, move the retaining tabs and remove the bolt.

    On the right side, remove the locking nut which threads onto the bolt (it is not obvious that it is a locking nut but it threads onto the actual bolt that holds the swingarm on).

    The bolt itself can then be removed with a hex key. The swingarm will then be free, just make sure to recover the bearings and seals that might come out of the assembly, and note the order that they go back together.

    my 1100 has the lock nut/hex bolt on both sides under the covers, the 750 looks very similar and may have the same setup...
