I had no luck at eBay or on the web, by part number or bike model.

Plenty of results for the Seca 750, but they actually say "750", so no go.

I have a request in at a salvage yard that's helped me out a lot in the past. I'll post the result when they return my call today or tomorrow.

Thanks! I appreciate any help. That's the good thing about these forums, people looking out from one another. Maybe our government should give it a try!

There have been four of the white ones on eBay since July. I almost bought them as spares, but the pricing went too high for my liking. Still, if you don't have one at all, it would be worth it. I'll keep an eye out for one & pm you if I see it.

Sorry TNVOL, I ended up calling four salvage yards, but none could help me.

It's a sure bet that you can find your part, just a matter of hitting the right place at the right time. Keep trying salvage yards - there's lots of them - eventually you'll dial the right number. Good luck!

How much were they going for on eBay ... there's a guy with a 550 that might accept a decent offer. What's about right?

    You might try these guys

    http://www.drumhillcycle.com/

I have had good luck calling them about parts not listed on the site before and they have other parts for a XJ550.

I lost interest when they went over 50 bucks apiece.

    LOL, 550 Seca side covers.???

Seem to be rarer than hens teeth.

Been looking for over a year now and only saw one "rough" set on ebay the whole time. I have a cracked one that I am repairing and trying to work out how I can make a "reverse" mould to make a lefty. Can be done but I've been riding around for ages without any at all.

If you can find someone with a donor set then it should be fairly cheap to have some made from fibreglass.

Bought a bike minus the right sidecover, luckily a local guy builds them in fibreglass for about $40-50NZ, for my cafe racer XJ550 I will be building I'm having some done in carbon fibre

I went to a nearby boneyard to get a Left-side cover for someone on another site. The guy wanted a hundred and ten bucks for it and wouldn't budge an inch.

Guess he'd rather look at it than sell it!

The plan I had in mind was to take the lexisting cover and fill with expanding foam, then cut and file till I have a shape that is the same both sides.

Then simply make a fibreglass mold from the opposing shape. Once the mold is made then add a few bits for the tabs and make a final cover from this mold.

Would need to coat the inside of the cover with vaseline or something to make the foam removal easier.
Sound simple doesn't it. Now just need the time.
