Parts Interchange

    I just stole a 1982 XJ 1100 (ok not stolen but paid 100 for it) but is in need of a few parts are MIA such as both front calipers, side stand, rear turn signals and gas cap. Anybody have an idea what other bike other then another XJ 1100 would have the same parts?

    Actually I believe the 1100 uses the same calipers as the 550s (not the same rotors.)

    Use a fiche: http://www.babbittsonline.com/pages/par ... fault.aspx

    -look up your part number.
    -"copy" it
    -click "pick a new model"
    -"paste" it into "quick lookup" (be sure to select "Yamaha.")

    That will give a you a list of every Yamaha bike that uses that part.

    In the case of fenders, gas tanks, body parts, etc., knock off the last 2-digit suffix and you'll get all the similar parts that may differ in color, finish, etc.
