When I inherited my 1983 xj650 maxim it was missing the right side cover and I have not been able to find one. I've been checking ebay everyday, and have even pm'd people in these forums that were parting out bikes. If anyone has one or knows where I might be able to find one, please give me a hand. You can either post on here or pm me. Color doesnt matter as I can repaint it.
    Thanks
    Tony

Not to "steal" the thread..but new to the XJ bike...

Does a 1982 XJ650 Maxim side cover fit a 1982XJ750 Maxim? I'm looking for one of those famously lost right side/battery cover. It would help me knowing if I have a couple years "play" to look.

    Thanks

Tonyxj650 here are the pics. $45 plus $15 shipping. Thats what they cost me. I bought the cover sight unseen. I was told it was for an 83 XJ750 maxim and ended up with one for a 83 650.

I was also missing the battery cover when I purchased my '83 750. I found one used for $50 - $75. I only paid $750 for the whole bike, so I decided to fabricate my own cover out of an old piece of rigid foam. I don't know the exact name of this foam, it's hard and can be sanded, etc. I just posted a picture in my gallery.
