Headlight Wires

    These 2 wires have never been hooked up to anything. What are these 2 wires for ? Just extra pigtail wires for an extra light ???

    I have two extra wires also. I thought PO did a hack job...

    I've got them as well. I think they are for running lights.

    they are for running lights mostly to hook up in to a faring or aftermarket winker light with running light op

    lol sorry my old bike was a 1959 honda dream and in that book the turn sigs were listed as winker lights so the term stuck in my head

    yeah they would be cool but dont want the bike winking at the yeti lady down the road please dont give her any ideals pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    I also have 2 extra wires (at least) on my xj650rj. I think all of them are that way. Confuses the heck out of me, but as long as she's running right, I don't see a problem.

    I too thought the PO did a hack job.

    I'm going to guess that they are the Parking bulb that isn't used in the US. The Brit models got them and they were a peanut bulb that sat in the main headlight reflector. See if they don't get juice when you switch the ignition to Park position. I'll bet you do.

    They are pigtailed to the headlight wires so if the headlight is on they have power.

    Ahh, yes. So they are... (whack forehead, exclaim Doh!) And I have looked at them more than a time or two. Having a grey moment.
