    Hello all,
I'm interceding for a friend here. He has a late 70's early 80's XJ750 (will find out exact year) and it's started spraying oil onto the rear tire in sufficient quantities to be really dangerous!

Now, this friend is NOT technically proficient and I'm worried he's going to kill himself one of these nights.

Can anyone suggest where I can look to figure out his problem? (with the bike I mean! ;)

I'm not familiar with the XJ750 so I'm coming here first before I drive out to his place and start poking around.

Thanks in advance for any and all comments.

check tightness of all bolt heads on the valve covers. mine had a broken boss [ the thing on the inside that the bole screws into and oil came out the rubber seal. not something you can see]

clean the bike, drain the oil, refill with the right amount of oil, clean it again, then see what happens
