Crankcase breathing

    I am getting at least a mist of oil in the airbox from the crank fumes tube.
    I wanted to put an external Breather Filter and eliminate fumes/oil back into the carbs.

    Does the crankcase REQUIRE ventilation to operate correctly?
    If so, would an inline breather filter that runs back to the airbox be more appropriate?

    you too full up on oil?
    A K&N might be a handy fix since they're supposed to have oil :D
    jetting though :(

    you can't plug the hole but whatever you do aside from that is fair game. The airflow on the crank breather is a wave form. Like down at the beach. The water splashes up on the sand and goes back out. Ultimately not moving around all the much. It just goes back and forth. There is a very slight tendancy towards expelling due to tiny amounts of blow-by at the rings. A breather filter would just be there to keep dirt and crap from getting into your crankcase.

    Make sure you aren't overfilled.

    If you're NOT overfilled; do a Compression Check.

    If the Compression's OK, ... you can pull the Shift Cover and inspect the Baffle that supposes to keep Oil from getting by and out of the Engine.

    Not overfilled. Oil level is just below the top of the sight glass. Should level be in the middle of the glass?

    I did add 4 oz extra oil because I installed a turbo 650 oil cooler.

    But...I did not know about the baffle inside the shift cover!!
