    ...on an 82' 650 SECA?

Will a seat from a 550 or 750 fit without modification?

I want to fabricate a new seat, but don't want to screw up my current seat foam and pan doing it. I have checked around ebay, but have yet to find anything from a 650 specifically, but can find seats from a couple 550s and tons of 750s. I would think they would all work, but wanted to see if anyone could confirm it for me before I buy one.

Unfortunately, there is not a whole lot of seat pan interchangability between models, without MAJOR seat pan and/or bike frame modifications. The method in which (and where) the seat pan brackets, latches, and catches attach to the pans and to the frame vary greatly between models......and those issues don't even take into account the width and length of the seat pans, nor the configuration (curvature or "steps") within the pan.

Without planning on doing major surgery to a stock pan and/or frame, you might find it a heck of a lot easier and less expensive to simply keep looking for the proper 650 Seca seat to do your experiments upon....

    Thanks Chacal!

I'll keep looking for a 650 seat then.

You can also just make up your own custom seat pan from pink house sheathing foam (or exterior plywood) covered with fiberglass. Make it whatever size fits you and works with your bike, then 'glass it and cover it.
