If santa were to bring you one bike and only one bike, out of every bike ever made, (rare or not) What would you ask him for?

yeah, those are cool. Jay Leno has one. He says that when the turbines are completly pressurized, thrust is extremely brutal and lag is almost undetectable. That bike should have winglets on each side to become airborne.

Some might think I'm crazy - but I'd go for a Suzuki V-Strom.
Ugly, but amazingly comfortable and capable.

A brand new Yamaha Roadstar Warrior in all black (preferably flat black). Oh, and paid off, so I can actually keep it.

    Or this sweet BSA:

It's a good thing I'm skint, because I'd have one hell of a time picking just one, if I had the dough.

My head says Hayabusa, since anything less would keep me wondering what a 200mph bike is like to own and ride, (had a brief test ride in Edmonton back in 2001, loved it). Plus, it's a Suzuki, which are my first love in bikes. I know, the ZX 14 has eclipsed it, but Kawasaki forgot how to make a good looking sportbike several years ago with the death of the ZX7R. Plus, it needs a few years to achieve the same cult-bike status as the Suzuki. By that time, of course, there will be a new Hayabusa and we will have returned to our regularly scheduled broadcast... Shame Yamaha never got in on the game.

However..... I have a soft spot for the naked bikes, with the ZRX 1200 at the top of the list, well, maybe tied with the XJR 1300 SP. Wouldn't kick one of those GSX1400 thingies out of bed for eatin' biscuits either. That new Bandit 1250 liquid cooled bike looks like a winner, bit is a bit bland. Overall, I think I prefer the first gen Bandit, really.

I guess, if I was honest, I'd say I would like an MV Agusta F4 CC (Claudio Castiglioni).

Sex on wheels. 200hp. Titanium exhaust. I could put up with a lot of Italian "character" to own one of these.

I'd want my old Yamaha DT100 (early 70s back). Had a lot of good times on that bike.

Like the time I took this girl for a ride, and switched the fuel valve off. But turned it off way too soon and ran out of gas in the middle of a huge fallow field. Had to push the bike nearly a mile to the woods before we stopped to rest and.............

And Mrs. MiCarl wonders why I come home from rides on the XJ a bit frisky

I'd like to have this imaginary bike:

    2007 XJ-900LX SuperMaxim
Air and Oil cooled. DOHC4. Shaft drive. 6-Speed. Fuel injected with switchable Street, Cruise and Performance Ignition and Mixture presets. High-output alternator for accessories. Cases. Padded sissy. 3-Point Guards. Air-horns. Dual front discs. Rear disc brake with rear-wheel dampers. Rear shocks with threaded pre-load and adjustable damping. Adjustable pre-load front forks. Stainless exhaust.

I'd consider goin' down to the cross-roads and makin' the deal ... if you know what I'm saying!

That one is allso on my list. The jap version that is.
If the XJR was made in the US, it would be a big, noisy, fuelconsuming mammoth of a tractor-looking sofa-bike with poor handling and low performance.

I know having one to choose is diffcult, but at least it gets you pondering and really thinking about what niche or platform you would choose. Their are sooo many models to choose from and different styles. I had to start by picking my favorite style, then engine configuration, and size. I love "the old school" look, modern technology and musculrity of the XJR1300 and have been infactuated with that bike since it came out in europe a few years back.I'd seriously give my left nut for one! Ive got to agree with macMcmac regarding those new f4s its one sexy roller! and that bsa beardking has posted up is awesome too! Ohh,I hope santa can bring me my XJR! Ill even be good and share it with Max x..

It looks like a true sports bike should too
with just 250ccs, you can really open up the throttle without getting into trouble as fast as those new 600/1000 cc monsters. Plus, you probably get more fun out of this flickable little demon

Right now, it would be very tough for me to start another project. I spent years getting the 900 just the way I wanted it. The Max moved-in and there went another two years of evenings and weekends doing another rebuild and restore job.

I imagine I could stuff a 900 engine into the frame of a 750 Bike without needing a shoe-horn. But there's two problems needing to be overcome.

    1. I'd want the 900 Airbox.
    2. I'd want the fuel tank modified to let the 900 engine fit with some degree of Non-hacked-up customization.

    I've been dreaming about it.
    I have the stuff.
The local Tech High School is offering a welding class.

I'll put it on the drawing board and write-up a few posts on my findings. Maybe some outside input will build a fire under me.

I'd rather stick a Maxim-X engine in there and big-bore it. Likely easier to find than a 900 engine, although there is one on Ebay at the moment in Minnesota.

Like many others the choice of one bike of all is tough. I like the sounds of the K1200 GT, and also lean towards a roadliner or stratoliner but I Think that IF i could choose any bike I would look very hard at a 2007 HARLEY night rod special.

    left to right: '02 BMW RT, '04 BMW K1200RS, '92 Ducati 907IE, '85 XJ700, '82 XJ550 (the Maxim's were bought for my SO)

What do I want from Santa? Easy, a MV Augusta F4 so I can, you know, get to 7-11 and back fast.

    A Britten... :D

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Britten
    http://www.britten.co.nz/

The guy was amazing. In the 90's he hand built every part of his motorcycle and ran it as a privateer at Daytonna against the big dogs. It's a purpose built race bike - completely useless to me... however, the story, the man, and the pure capability of the bike just move me.

If I could have one bike to put on a pedestal... that would be it.

Hard to say, if I could have any bike, I'd have to get a full dresser everything on it Yamaha Touring Bike or an Harley cant put anything else on it touring Bike, I would like to ride home after I get back from Iraq, and my little 750 max will be uncomfortable by the time I hit the TN mountains.

to not be picky, I'd settle for a complete rebuild on my max.

Can't pick really one, but if it were just one I'd want to be able to jump on and go without having to stop every few hundred miles due to being sore. So I've ridden and love the Victory Vision, so I'd say a decked out Vision.

I'd black out some more items, different wheels etc. but these things ROCK and handle like you wouldn't believe for a big bike.

as far east as you can get in michigan 43.027407,
i really like the XJR1300. they even make a little fly screen fairing for them as a factory accessory according to yamaha europe dot com...

i like Ricks dream bike too but i think if you put fuel injection on it, i dont think i would need the extra MAP settings. and i KNOW i dont need all of the other suspension settings because i dont think ive ever adjusted them on my bike after setting them for firm. being a big guy and all...

from the sounds of it, the 900 would definitely need a better fairing than the 83 version, but i dont know if i would want a full fairing like on an FJ or honda ST...

I was looking at a vision the other day while waiting on the parts dept to come back from lunch. I have never ridden one but I have to say it has about the worst designed fairing and bodywork I have ever seen on a bike. Everything looks crammed together and out of place. From the front it looks like one of those honda scooters. And the price tag is waaay up there too.

I'd have to say my 1 bike would be the Mr Turbo Kawasaki ZX11. 350whp and 230mph+ would certainly be exciting.
