That X4 is sweeeeet! but couldnt deal with an automatic. Always loved bandits too. I want to get on one of those Vmax bikes, havent even seen one in a showroom yet. And the SV-1000 looks like a thrill to ride for a twin, supposed to have some sweet torque. Would love to have a busa, but i know that would get old on my long trips to work, esp when i take out a pine tree in turn 2. Damn, it is a sickness.

OK, so this bike gives me a woody. I'm definitely going to get one. Of course that will be 22 years from now, i'll pick it up on ebay under the caption of "09 Yam Vmax, needs work, pipes rusted" or something like that... lol....

If i had the cash to buy that one, well, i guess i dont have to worry bout that!!

My original plan a couple of years ago was to buy a big V-Twin bike and boy all I was looking at was the big Harley’s. But since it had been almost 20 years since I was last was on a bike and I did not want to spend several thousands of dollars on something that might end up sit in the corner of my garage collecting dust. So I find an inexpensive used bike (my 82 Seca) in the local Craig’s list in really good condition. It just needed some Sea foam in the tank and new tires and I’ve been rolling and having fun ever since.

Well back to the original question “What would I upgrade too, newer and/or bigger?” After countless lunch hours drifting in and out of the local showrooms I have decided I do not have to spend 15 to 20 thousand dollars on a bike but would get the V-Star 1100 Custom. It is a big bike that looks and sounds great and even better reasonable price. But, I will not sell the XJ750 Seca, its too much fun.

Triumph Scrambler or Bonneville Black. Came close to buying a Scrambler a few months back but some rational thinking got the better of me. and i'd keep the XJ. like someone else said, what id get in $ or trade aint worth what I'd lose in fun.

my next used bike will be a KLR650. Simple, reliable, cheap, easy, dual purpose.

For touring the newer Koncourse14 is a thing of beauty. variable cam timing, the torque curve is sweet and keyless is pretty cool for a factory (non)option.

    I'm torn...
I either want to try a cruiser-style, or modify another sporty naked (i.e., a Kawasaki Versys, as done up by Wrench Monkees: link)

I jumped onto a VTR250 that made my XJ feel like it was made of wood. Stripped my xj and made it a prokect

then when I got stuck with a 40 minute freeway commute, I wanted my first real crotch rocket. but 4 cylinder engines that aren't air cooled piss me off. so I was stuck with the V twin. and nothing sounds meaner than an aprilia RSV mille with an exhaust. So I found one with an akrapovic can, and have been riding it ever since.

But when my seca is back on the road, it'll probably become my daily again.

After hearing a Speed Triple fly by my office the other day, any Triumph with that 675 motor would be lovely.

Damn I'd take one of those Super Ténéré if they offered it. I even like the side tupperware bags if I could get a matching trunk :)

OOOO these are also very sexy and shafties with 4-2's (I like the symmetry)
