OK.. Maybe I'm not keeping up with the latest and greatest.
In the process of polishing engine covers,
I bought some Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish.
I didn't think it was much different than any paint polish.
Rubbed alittle on the outer part of thr rims and WOW!!
At least on the rims, it is like night and day.
Only took about 15 minutes a rim with no hard rubbung.
    Anyone else a believer? 8O 8O

Abso freekin lootly, I used it as well on mine. Matter of fact I used Aircraft remover on the front forks & then a coat of Mothers & they look like they came off the showroom. On my rear grab bar that I got off fleabay, I sanded it down to remove some pitting & discoloration until the aluminum was uniform in color again then polished it up. Very good stuff.

Well, upon recommendation from you bunch of misfits, I thought I would go see if such a thing was available "Down Under". Blow me down sport, it was in the first shop I went into.

Picked it up and headed home to see if you guys were BS'ing me.

Took to my XS which already had everything aluminum polished using some serious tools but a week of riding left it a bit dull.

WOW, it does make a difference. Easy on and easy off! Gives it a spiffing shine. Even took to the bars on my 4x4 which I had given up on cleaning and they came up a treat.

And despite the label saying it "may" not be suitable for other metals, I went off to the shed and tried it on a few less than perfect chrome spares. Took away rust stains and left a beaut shine on even some of the rough old junk.

    Highly recommend it myself now.

    Cheers Guys

I bought aircraft remover at Auto zone.
    Another good product.
I decided to use regular paint stripper
from a home store on my clutch lever.
It bearly even softened the black finish.
Tried the aircraft stuff on the brake lever.
The finish was wrinkling off before I could set it down.

I picked up the Aircraft remover from Walmart. Just be careful, whatever it gets on, it's gonna take the finish off, & quick. I removed my front wheel & unbolted the calipers then used cardboard to block off the radiator & engine then went to work with it. It removes all the Anodized crap that has yellowed over the years & leaves a brand new looking finish. Also on the rear brake drum it worked but I also had to a bit of sanding & polishing with steel wool & 1200/1500 grit sand paper to get the aluminum uniform in color again before making it shine like new with Mothers.

I'm freaking hooked. All I've polished up so far is my helmet/seat lock and I'm already hooked. That thing was downright freaking dingy and I thought there was no hope for it at all, and then I was proved wrong. Very impressed with Mothers.

The aircraft stripper is pretty impressive as well. Put it on my grab bar and it took everything off. I need to get to sanding it a bit before I go after it with the Mothers, but I'm definitely impressed. One thing I found out for sure, don't get that stuff on your skin. Whoah buddy that stuff hurts.
