    long shot I know but the gf just got a maxim x and we need a backrest for the kids. ??

    The Yamaha version is one of those parts made of unobtainium. When they come up, they are few and far between.

    You might have more luck fabricating a mount and using one of the Givi trunks.

    Scoop it up, those things are like honest lawyers, politicians.....you get the idea.
    Expect it not to go cheap though, the seller is right when he says rare.

    The back rests are not nearly as difficult to come up on as the luggage rack. I just sold two rests to Members. I'm fresh out. I do have one luggage rack, but that thing might as well be made of platinum as it is going nowhere anytime soon.
