I hate the valve Cover, that was the PO. This winter, when I tear it all down for a overhaul, to clean up the frame and stuff, I am going to redo the engine and the valve cover with better paint.

Flat black paint, with a Jet black engine, and all the fins will be polished.

Inspection in Mississippi is quite different, all inspections are done at local tire shops and cost about 5 bucks. I took the bike in and the guy asked for the VIN, Make, Model and CC's handed me a sticker and said that'll be 5 bucks. Gotta love it.

I love the new T bars. They have to be WAY more comfotable than those clubman bars. If you need longer cables I have some that would fit those perfectly. Actually I just have a throttle cable. I already sold the clutch cable. It's brand new and in perfect shape.

Those bars look alot like mine.... what brand? Also I was looking at the slight pull back bend, just wondering what if you spun the bars 180* so the pull back was like a pull forward? Give a more agressive stance maybe? All and all I like, cuz it looks like mine.

^^^^ that would be like when you swung the bars around on your bmx bike. The angle of the grips would be wrong... they sould be going away from you. Remember when you did it on your bmx bike you had to hold them with an underhand grip? If you wanted to do what you were suggesting you would have to cut the bars from the risers and reweld.

Touché. Let it be known that I was not refering to the top horizontal part of the bars where the grips are, but rather the two vertical parts that are bent back. Reguardless koolaid wins this match

I'm confused Patrick.... Are those bars not all one piece? Can you turn just the vertical pieces? I was thinking that it was all one solid piece

haha thanks for the words guys, I worked a horrible long crap shift today and didnt get to ride it. Tomorrow I will take it for a ride.

@ Koolaid5- I will take the longer throttle cable, if u still wanna sell it, just pm me the info and paypal stuff, I'll take it. It makes the reach on these, but just barely with rerouting of it, plus the bars can only be bent to cretain angle forward and back.

@ Haserys- Man the exhaust is simple as sin to make. if your interested I can tell you the easy, (a bit ghetto-fabbed) way I made them.

well, I just cant seem to leave it alone. After putting 600 miles on it, I am now looking at re-doing a few things to it, to make it more "unique". Get ready for more updates, as I get back at it tomorrow.

Well i broke down and ordered the TC bro's forward controls, Although I like the ones I made, I cannot seem to get the foot shifter to work correctly for the suicide shifter with them. So I am going to try and use the TC bros ones.

I had some difficulty getting mine to shift with forward foot controls. I had to put a rod to the top and a rod to the bottom of the shifter to push/pull it. These XJ shifters don't like to be altered much.

I had simillar issues. I was able to clock mine to about the 9:30 position and it works well now.

My link connects to a stock 750 shifter shaft piece.

My issue was a really long throw. I just cut and lengthened the end on the foot control itself.
