Is there anyway to make a maxim a turbo, or make it faster?

Um, how fast? You could find a 900 or 1100 motor. But I'm guessing that no matter what you do you won't be happy, so start looking for another bike. However if you are going to make it faster you "should" upgrade the suspension and braking systems first. Alot of people upgrade their vehicles to make them faster and then get into trouble because that's all they upgraded.

    Yes, but...

If you want to go the turbo route, plan on a lot of time and effort to get it to where it runs properly, and won't go boom when on-boost.

Yamaha beefed up a lot of parts when they turbocharged the 650 Seca, Here are the biggies that I'm aware of...and there are more subtle changes that I don't know about.

An entirely new induction system: the only large parts in common with the non-turbo bikes are the carburetor bodies.
    Lower compression, stronger pistons.
    A stronger clutch.
Better heat-treatment of the crank and gearbox.
A different CDI box, with a pressure retard for boosted conditions.
    The oil cooler.
You'll also need good gas. :D

The easiest way to get a faster Maxim or Seca is to just swap in a larger powerplant. If you absolutely have to go the turbo route, transplanting a 650 Turbo's engine and all its' support system components would be the way to go.
