Haha, when I bought mine it had ~11k and I put about 20 miles on it that day! Only 1.2 miles sounds like neglect :)

Just picked up a parts bike last weekend

    Needed
    swap blinkers from parts bike
swap headlight bucket from parts bike
    replace speed/tach gauge cluster

I am at over 50,000 miles on the 650 Seca, my short daily commute to work bike that always starts and runs even when left out in the rain.

Only spark plugs, oil changes and a front tire for the last 2 1/2 years and 8,000 miles.

I have replaced the intake manifold boots, plugs, header studs, brake lines, master cylinder, brake pads front and rear, starter relay. Left side muffler is broken, held together with muffler tape, a pop can, and hose clamps. Tires, battery, air filter as needed. Oil changes on schedule.

1980 Maxim 650 had 17,000 when I got 3 years ago and just rolled 20,000 yesterday. I replaced the front tire and head gasket in the past 3 years and cleaned the carbs first day I owned it.

See sig for repairs/mx, I've only had her since spring 2010.

6th would be nice, and I need to find some highway pegs to put on.

Let's see, over 40,000, hard to be exact as speedo reads low and I replaced the old speedo with one from God-knows-what and just got the odometer close to the old one's reading.

Things that have gone bad, well, speedometer(cracked plastic gears inside) causing me to replace it and lose trip odometer which didn't fit in housing(maybe from a Seca or Virago?)

Many leaks from valve cover and head gasket. Um, minor electrical issues, lost headlight for no apparent reason, then it started working again. Only current issue is the self-cancelling signals, but I just found a bad wire under the middle of the cross-bar under the tank that might affect it.

Some rust and oxidation of various chrome or aluminum bits. Had to re-cover seat. Oh, petcock totally stopped working, replaced that. Re-keyed helmet lock(well, took out a couple tumblers) but that's not the bike's fault, somebody put a bunch of keyed things on this bike that don't match, gas cap looks like screwdriver opened it.

Other than that petcock issue, it's never had a problem that kept me off the road, I replaced the back brakes, but they didn't need it, nobody ever adjusted the old ones! So that explained why they didn't do anything. Even my Atari works for the most part, had to by-pass that battery thing, but I find the warning handy and annoying when I'm low on fuel(you reset it, then it "sees" gas and turns off, then blinks again, but I don't have the heart to remove it, since it works)

    81 seca 750.

New exhaust, new battery, new right side cover of course, sync carbs, plugs, plug wires, mirrors, hand grips, clutch lever, oil and filters.

Not sure how many miles on the bike or what I put on in the past 3 years. Odometer reads 1999.7 and has been stuck there for how long. I like to take it out whenever I can.

I would like it to be shiny and clean looking like so many I see on this site. However, I would need to invest and work at this and I am too lazy and cheap. And a working speedo and odometer would be nice. But I am happy with it because it runs great and is a blast to drive. I never need to worry about it getting dirty or scratched. I think people dismiss it because it's not pretty. My wife gets lots of looks and comments on her bike (04 Suzuki Savage) because its clean and new looking - I hope they are complimenting her bike and not her.

51,186 miles...original timing chain, clutch, steering and swingarm
    bearings.

    New wheel bearings.
Stock mirror reshaped to a nice small oval.
    Front seat re-covered by hand.
Lots of little custom stuff like studs, chrome trim.
    Headlight/t-sig visors.
New paint with flames on the way as soon as
I get a compressor for my air brush.
    Chrome trim here and there.
    Clear t-sig lenses-look way better!
    Engine cases and forks polished.
Hand made leather tank bib, clutch/brake handle wraps.
Screamin Eagle mufflers-gone as soon as I can find a better
    sounding pipe.

This bike has been a blast to restore (not to stock of course) and I
absolutley love the compliments and accolades as this is my first real
    attempt at cutomizing a bike.

    Seca 750 (1981) - - 47,000
came with stainless lines, pods, engine chrome pieces, custom paint, sport fairing, red seat, 4 into 1 Mac.
I fitted an airbox, shaped and covered a new seat, installed the sport touring stuff, paint and polish (not done).

    http://www.xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic ... =ride.html

    Seca 900 (1983) - - 30,000
came with 20 holes drilled in airbox cover, small turn signals, 4 into 1.
I fitted a battery, Turbo 650 rear shocks, did NOT clean carbs!!
My only gripe is the forward leaning position doesn't work on longer trips.

I'm at about 22,000, the bike had 19,xxx when I bought it in July. Put a lot more miles on this than I ever did on a Vulcan. But that's probably because I have a gf who likes to ride, so we've been having fun with the Maxim :)

1981 Maxim 550 - 5700km. I only just bought it and have put about 30km myself. Just put new tires so far as the last owner sold it to me with an original 81 rear tire. Runs well, everything is original
