Thought I would share my progress on Vintage rice as of late.

She got a new seat as I couldn't take the stock seat any longer. We are rather limited when it comes to seats so I fabbed one up using a sportster seat.

It's actually a seat made by "Drag Specialties" but came with my 1990 Sportster. I had to make a bracket to fit under the tank and then drill out the rear fender. I also had to make a sleeve to take up the slack of the long bolt.

I also put a block of wood under the rear part of the seat and I covered it in leather.

The finishing touch I had an old Willie and Max saddlebag that was too small to use for anything so I ripped it apart and used nearly all of it to cover the area's under the seat that exposed the underpinnings of the places the stock seat would cover.

I used heavy waxed upholstery thread and hand sewed the leather to the seat. Talk about sore fingers!

Anyway, The seat is very comfortable compared to the stock seat. I like the looks and was pretty happy with the result.

My next project is replacing those dreadful foot pegs. Should be interesting.
