I can't search so great with my phone so...

How realistic or NOT to make front controls for 82 750 maxim without access to a welder?
I mostly have hand tools, dremel and bench grinder.

I'm sure with TIME and my engineering degree I could figure something out... but i'm not sure if I'll NEED welded parts.

I ask because my first test ride WITH the wife had my legs cramped (sitting more foward) and harder to shift & brake. I'm 6' and neither of us are lightweights...

It's possible. The only real obstical to overcome would be the linkage. I made mine with almost no welding. I only welded the tube adapters to the end of the links and some angle to the plate for my pegs.

Pegs could easily bolt on if you're using some of that variety.

Honestly, just order a set from TC bros or something. By the time you get materials and a design hammered out it'll be easier and almost as cheap.

Not exactly cheap but seen them on Ebay. Food for thought I guess

    Edit
Those Tc controls do look nice. However moved controls will make it even harder for my 5' wife to mount up. Lol

I thought they were too much too. Then I spent around $100 in materials for mine plus my time. Would have been quicker and less of a headache to just bolt the others on but a bit more $$.

Forwards are sweet. With those and my tractor seat I'm comfortable for a full tank easy. If I had a little windshield that would be better still. I'm 6'4.

BOB!! don't let anyone put you off, Use your skills and make your own - take up the challenge, some people just don't understand the satisfaction you would gain, "one off" means something. use what you have worked so hard for to make something your way, invent. were theres a will... :D

Just saw your edit. I also left my stock pegs. Sometimes I move my feet back to bend the knees a bit.

JayDub I wasn't telling him not to I offered an option based on my experience.

Go for it, I only used my welder a couple times, im sure you could do it, or maybe make a post on CL and ask for someone local to do a couple welds for ya for a case of beer or what not. They're pretty simple, I did my own as well, and with material I have less than $30 bucks in them.

Respect to you fella, I wasn't having a go at you in particular! It just seemed like he was giving up slightly... Just wanted to give Bob a bit of encouragement. He may regret not trying. :)
