I sanded my headers but there was a lot of pitting so I can't get all the dust off. What would you recommend to get the dust off? I tried compress air and a moist rag but there's always some left.

    honestly

I will only sand blast headers if they are getting painted. have had a couple of jobs that i have done look like shit 6 months later as the rust underneath makes it flack off.

You might wanna try PPG DX579, its not too expensive. its a metal deep clean and conditioner so it should work fine to get in the pitting and clean it all out, and its also a great paint pre prep. just make sure to read the directions and wash off with water b4 drying.

tack cloth, thats what I used when I painted my headers. The look great, and its been over a year. so no flaking as of yet.
