    Starter motor works - when I push handlebar button - solenoid clicks - is it solenoid or starter relay? :(

    Solenoid=starter relay.

    Weak battery, wiring, connections, ground straps, the contacts in the button---

    or the solenoid/relay itself. Sometimes can be repaired if you are careful; otherwise replace.

    On my 750, I had an old bad battery, even with a full charge (as full as it would charge) on it and the charger still hooked up, it wouldn't turn over. I assumed bad starter solenoid, but when I got a new battery, charged it properly, and put it in, it turned over with no problem at all. If you have another motorcycle, try to jump it across, or you could use a car but thats pretty iffy with the electronics on the bike...

    If it is the starter solenoid, they are pretty easy to come buy on ebay, new ones are around $25. I've also heard that a starter solenoid off of a riding lawn mower or similar small equipment will work, so any small engine repair shop would likely have one.

    Hope that helps!
