So again I went out to start my bike up and it started right up but after I rode it around the block a few times I shut it off and tried to start it again and nothing just a few grinding noises, so I had to push start it. Any quick fixes???

35,000 Miles means you need to take a look at your Alternator Brushes - Starter Motor Brushes - Battery.

The whole situation depends on the condition of the battery.

Is the Starter turning the engine over ... or, is is acting like the battery's dead?

Did the grinding noise come from the starter? Pull the starter off the engine either leave the starter cable connected and hold the starter (firmly) against either the engine or frame some where that it will ground hit starter button see what happens or pull starter all theway out usea battery charger (+)on post(-)on starter if thats not the source of the grinding noise you have a more seriuse problem.

The starter brushes are inside the starter case. Remove the two long bolts along the side of the starter case and carefully remove the end cap. There are some planatery gears in there that fall out easily. Then remoe the other end cap where the wire connection is. Inside there is are the brushes. One of which is connected to that bolt that is the wire connection to the selenoid. Service limit for the brush length is 8.5mm. One of mine measured 8.3 when my starter went out.
Alternator brushes are inside the round cover with 3 bolts just above the starter. They are inside the cover. Service limit for them is 10mm.
