I bought new seats and needles for a 1981 650 maxim ( after market ) because it was the only way i could get new filter screens . the problem is the new screen don't stay in place and the springs in the new needles are not consistent which made balancing the floats a bigger pain . My ? is do i need the filter if i have one on my fuel line and if i wanted to get another set I've seen on the net that are closer to factory they don't seem to come with them. :? thanks Wes

you don't need those screen filters if you're running an inline filter.
