    Hello,
I just bought my first bike which is a 1984 xj750RL. It has been in storage for the last 8 years and the owner said it was running fine before it was stored. I got the engine to turnover but it wouldn't start up. There was no spark coming from the spark plugs and I checked the ignition coils and they both have a primary coil resistance of 5.5 at Rx-1 and a secondary coil resistance of 200 at Rx-100. Are these the right resistances? and sorry i'm pretty new to bikes but what other things would need to be checked/cleaned or repaired with a bike this old?

    Thanks in advance

new battery should get you spark. plugs also.

you should flush all fluids and change the oil.

clean the carbs from sitting for 8 years and she'll be running like a champ.

I had it hooked up to a car battery because the old battery was pretty much dead but the spark plugs looked in pretty good condition
