I need carbs that work. Anyone have a set that they want to part with? I should clarify a set that is in working condition.

    Thanks

What is wrong with your set? Rebuilding is not hard if you have the place to do it. I have a set but they are in need of a rebuild. I could do it for you if you want.

A pilot jet has been drilled out and the air gas mixture screw has been drilled into. I will get those out with as little damage as I can. I started to price all the replacement parts I need and it is in the hundreds.

I should say the carbs have been sitting on the bike in storage for over ten years so everything needs to be rplaced.

I was hoping to get this bike to run before I invest a lot of money into it. I my thoughts were find a working set of carbs fire this thing up, then stripper down and do it right.

Any thoughts from anyone on this approach?

Working carbs are tough to come by. Did you check with our parts guy Len to see if he could save you any money? Or list what you need and some of us could dig for a few used parts .

Getting it to run is the first step, it does not need to run well. Just enough to check for engine knocks and to run through the gears. You should be able to get it to start and run with your carbs. I have use carbs with partially drilled jets just for test runs to see if the engine was healthy. After that just replace the items that are bad jike the jets, reuse the old needles and gaskets for a while if funds are tight. A good set of working carbs will set you back a couple hundred.

Thanks for the input guys. I've been looking around for jets and man is yamaha proud. I'm on bike bandit looking into aftermarket jets at this point, it's the needle valve set that I will have to replace. They are completely shot.

Any thoughts on where I may find a set?

I have read here that any push in type for an xs will work. Is there any size differences, or any thing that I need to been looking for concerning these?

Again thanks for all you input on this. I'm starting to realize just how much I love the fuel injection on my 1300

We do carry all of the rebuild parts you'll ever need for the XJ1100 carbs!

XS1100 carbs are the "same but different". I would not recommend trying to swap parts (besides minor hardware items) between the two....
