I'm looking for some lowering shocks for the 82 XJ650. Im finding a lot out there but I'm wondering if anyone might have some advice on a cheaper route? I like the Burly slammer 10.5 look but don't wanna pay the $300 for em. So if there is something else out there just as good but for less please let me know

I have 10.5" sportster shocks on mine. The ride is fine. But I'm a big heavy guy. Got'em on ebay can't recall what I paid.

You do have to change out the bushings. Early 90's cavalier sway bar end links work if I recall. That info is on this site somewhere.

Just get a set of Progressive 12-series in the length you want, and springs rated for your bike. Should be well under $300.
