    Slick set up.

They say necessity is the mother of invention but in my opinion it's a step-sister at best. Laziness is the true mother of invention  .

You're going to need to run it backwards so it cleans the other side of the frame tunnel. Right now the "abrasive" is pouring off and missing one side.

Also would be a good idea to run it for periods at varying inclines so you don't just scour the deepest parts.

I should have gone into deeper detail. I did apply 'Forward Thinking'

    Drill is reversible.

Used Camera Tripod to facilitate changing the angle.

    Thank You

    Yea! What MiCarl says!

I think you have a great setup there! Never ever do anything by hand when you can get a machine to do the work for you!

Most of the fun for me in this type project is overcoming the little issues as they come up. I should have been a manufacturing process engineer!

    Carry on!

As soon as the Video started playing, ... I hit the Pause Button and came-back to the XJ-Site.

    This ain't a good idea.

One thing goes south and that Tank obeys the Law of Gravity and drops to the floor.
Where, ... there ain't even so much as a pillow-cushion from a nasty-old curb-sided easy chair to prevent the Tank from the big dent that its going to need having fixed roughly 0.16 of a second after breaking loose.

Without any Safety considerations evident, ...

    See what I'm saying ...

Mentally processing Ver. 2 considerations. Thank You.

Slowly planning a dual axis system - more napkins needed........

Can I ask a really dumb question?

    Why?

What's in the tank that you feel the need to continually rotate it?

Just asking. I tend to agree with Rick; seems like an overly elegant solution with disaster written on it. I would lean toward caution with an undented tank...

    Rust......

Knocking as much of the loose stuff off before JBWeld and POR15 treatment.

Pinhole syndrome on both back corners.

    Ahh; ok.

What's in there knocking the rust loose?

And I wouldn't recommend JBWeld. If you're going to all that trouble, take it somewhere and have it brazed/leaded (or even welded) up.

    Dent prevention version 2.1
Instead of placing a cushion below and having it bounce off and land beside it and dent. Duct tape a sleeping bag around it, then if it falls and for some reason the drill keeps going at least the sleeping bag will prevent it looking like a golf ball when you check it later in the day and find it's been bouncing around on the floor for a couple of hours! 8O

This seems a lot more work then using electrolysis to remove everything.
