$$ drop! Well after much consideration im selling my bike!

I am extremely new to the bike thing, and am also now pregnant(the wife). So i need to do the right thing and get rid of some toys starting with the bike So here it is ,

1982 Yamaha maxim 650
maroon tank and covers
the motor has 5500 on it just put it in this summer search previous postes for explanation.
There is nothing mechanicaly wrong with this bike and starts everytime i go out to the garage.
asteticaly there is one flaw a small ding in the tank from drag bars not being adjusted correctly, i have since fixed it.
It has a upgraded silverstar head light , new fuse panel installed, it has soft foam grips.
it need tires and front fork seals. thats it! ready for riding, i have oe handle bars sissy bar , large "turbo " wind screen. i have pics in my gallery.

price is negotable, id like to get 1500 for everything i have! but again its obo...
Im located in columbus ohio shipping could be arranged but would prefer pickup. shipping would be an additional charge to the buyer.

Sorry to hear of the need Soslow, I hope it finds a good home. Mommy needs to be #1 right now so good on you (although we went through pregnacy and mommy never mentioned needing to off-load anything). Wish you were closer, I'd be tempted. I also hope you'll continue to grace our presence from time to time. Perhaps in the future, another XJ will happen into your life. Here's to hoping and wishing you and your sweetheart a healthy baby!

I am sorry for that part of your soul that got energized by having the bike to both challenge your wits and supply it's need for specialized excitement.

I'm going to have to sell one of my XJ's; too. Someday. At the moment; it's off the table, while other far more important issues hog the spotlight.

I'm going to have the cross-hairs on my forehead pretty soon, though. In the mean time ...

I'm filling sandbags and keeping my powder dry.

The world will never run out of motorcycles that need fixing-up. After you Master the Art of changing Nasty Huggie's ... who know's ... there might be another motorcycle for you to fix and ride.

Right now; you have other shit to deal with! : )

congrats man! and I empithyze too. Ive had to sell three of my bikes in the past on different occasions just to put a little extra food on the table through the holidays and extra gifts under the tree. If I had to do it over again Id do what todubad suggested and hide it. If you need the money in a hurry then sell it, but if your just worried about the bike distracting you in your parental responsibities, just get it out of your site and get back to it later. parenting is fun,messy and alot of hard work, and from time to time you my friend will need a much needed break to escape with the wife and get away for an afternoon. If you dont have to dont, your intensions are in the right place though.Good luck with what ever you decide.

C'mon guys i realy need to sell this bike!!! first 1000 takes it all! you cant beat this deal i have original handle bars if you dont like the drag bars other than that it is stock. someone needs a awesome starter bike or just a good looking running second bike! not to mention its cheap!
