removing shaft on XJ 750 R '81

    i am having problems removing the shaft on my 750. i need to replace the middle gear through the left side plate and therefore need to pull the shaft out of the way. is this possible? am i missing a post that details this? thanks.

    i figured it. yes its possible to remove the middle gear through the left side cover and not have to rip apart the engine. saved me a lot of time and bother.
