Up here in the white north. I got abt. 6" on Tuesday night and another 6" on Wednesday. But it was nothing compared to the "good old days" when I came out of work and find 12" of snow on the parking lot.
The weatherman's job is the best.

About a foot, then another 3 inches after it was supposed to be done, but it was really the drifting that did me in:

I'd say we got about 6" or so, but it was the wind that caused drifting that was the problem. So, being the good neighbour I went out and cleared my driveway with the sno blower, then went across the street and did the ends of the 4 neighbours drives.
Then guess who shows up, the F'n snow plow! I had just put the blower back in tne garage too. So, out I go again, all four neighbours, get back to my place and the auger drive belt breaks, AAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now this sno blower was built back in the 80's so I go on line to find a manual so I can fix it. Spent a good hour searching page after page, got close, but no cigar. So I figure I've got nothing to lose and start taking it apart. Removed the bottom cover, see the broken belt, but can't fix it from there. Take off the plastic pulley cover off the top, see that there are a bunch of guide bolt to keep the belt from coming off. Finally figured out that there are four bolts holding the auger assembly to the main/drive part of the blower. OK, take them out and the front kinda falls away from the back.
Take the old belt to local small engine shop, $20.00 bucks later I'm heading home. Had to remove all the guide bolts, put the belt on, reinstall guide bolts and start re-assembly.
Well, I guess when this sucker was new threading the 1/8 steel sides was a good way to assemble the two halfs, but after 30 years the threads are F'd.
Grind off the back of the threaded part, put the new nut and bolt in place, fire up the stick welder and weld the nuts in place.
Got it all back together, went out and cleared the new snow that had fallen during the time it took me to fix the damn thing!
Did I ever mention how much I hate winter?

I said let it snow... I asked for it... damn!! 2 + feet with 3-5 feet snow drifts. Tuesday I had to put my mud wheels & tires back on my Bronco to get around and make road side rescues, who didn't get stuck? Wednesday was plowing and snowblowing from 5am until 11pm. Today I have to battle the frigid temperatures to finish up my appointments. Very profitable 3 days, but I would not object to the spending the remainder of the winter in Miami Florida.

We got just a small bit of freezing rain out of this last storm. Last week we got about 5" of wet heavy snow. Here in Baltimore.

town house with street parking, shovel the very short walk, put the giant truck in 4x4 and drive out of the parking spot.

    Bike's safe and warm(er) in it's garage.

I like the snow, I hate the idiots around here.

Too much to ride in thats for sure. They kept saying it will be as bad as the blizzard in 78, wasn't even close. We got about 8 in. blowing took it to look like two feet. but it stopped and we're out and running again.

I am around 12-15 miles from you out at the very end of Rt 100 towards Gibson Island. We got a solid 6 inches of very heavy stuff Weds night. I couldn't get "The Beast" (99 expy) into gear and had to get a rollback to take it in to get the shift cable replaced. It was done and back home on Friday but by then, it was all over. I had piled it up next to the boat in front of the basketball hoop on the other part of the driveway so when the Beast came back home I put it in 4w/low to drive up on top of the pile. Looks funny up there but I didn't want a local yahoo to hit it while parked on the street.

I work in DC/VA and traffic there will STOP if the radio says "chance of snow tomorrow"!! It is amazing....drive down the Parkway during a snowstorm and most of us are driving 40mph in the right lane then some fool will come flying up in the left lane going every bit of 70. Come the next bend in the road we'll see him off the road wondering what happened<LOL>..those are my fav morons.

I'm praying for a nice deep snowstorm, like last year!!

I bought my truck from down near where you're at then.

I prefer they leave one highway lane unplowed. That's where I drive while everyone else is fighting over the other two. I don't drive crazy or fast in adverse weather. I learned a long time ago 4x4 just means you're stuck worse.

As for parking on top of snow banks that makes sure I have a parking space when I get home.

we didn't get any had about 10-12 inches this year. Its nice when its coming down but after a day or 2 of it i have had enough. Atlanta was closed down for a week. Took 5 days just to be able to get up the hill to my house. Was a solid 3 inches of ice on the road. But we have no very few snow plows and use sand instead of salt to melt it.

A buddy of mine sent me this a while back, seems appropriate under the circumstances.

    NOV. 23rd
It's starting to snow. The first of the season. The wife & I took out hot toddies and sat in the garden watching the fluffy soft flakes drift gently down, clinging to the trees and covering the ground. It's so beautiful & peaceful.

    NOV. 24th
Woke to a lovely blanket of crystal white glistening snow covering as far as the eye could see. What a fantastic sight everything covered with a beautiful white mantel. I shovelled snow for the first time ever and loved it! I did both our driveway & the pavement.

Later that day a snowplough came along & accidentally covered up our driveway with compacted snow from the street. The driver smiled & waved.. I waved back & shovelled it away again. The children next door built a snowman with coal for eyes & a carrot for a nose and had a snowball fight - a couple just missed me & hit the car so I threw a couple back & joined in the fun.

    NOV. 25th
It snowed an additional 5 inches last night and the temp. dropped to around minus 8 degrees. Several branches on our trees & bushes snapped due to the weight of the snow. I shovelled our drive again. Shortly afterwards the snowplough came by & did his trick again! Much of the snow is now brownish/grey.

    NOV. 26th
Warmed up enough during the day to create some slush, which soon became ice when the temp. dropped again. Bought snow tyres for both our cars. Fell on my arse in the driveway. Went to physio but nothing was broken.

    NOV. 27th
Still cold. Sold the wife's car & bought her a 4X4 to get her to work. She slid into a wall & did considerable damage to right wing. Had another 8 inches of white shite last night. Both vehicles are covered in salt & iced up slush. That bastard snowplough came by twice today. Where's that bloody shovel?

    NOV.28th
More f***ing snow. Not a tree or bush on our property that hasn't been damaged. Power was off most of the night. Tried to keep from freezing to death with candles & a paraffin heater that tipped over & nearly torched the house. I managed to put the flames out but suffered 2nd degree burns on my hands. Lost my eyebrows & eyelashes. Car hit a f***ing deer on the way to casualty & was written off!

    NOV. 29th
F***ing bastard white shite just keeps on coming down. Have to put on every article of clothing just to go to the post box. The little shits next door ambushed me with snowballs on the way back. I'll shove that carrot so far up the little pricks arses, it'll take a good surgeon hours to find it. If I ever catch that arsehole that drives that snowplough I'll chew open his chest & rip out his heart with my teeth. I think the bastard hides round the corner & waits for me to finish shovelling & then he accelerates down the street like Michael f***ing Schumacher & buries the f***ing drive again.

    NOV. 30th
16 more sodding inches of f***ing snow & f***ing ice & f***ing sleet & God knows what other white shite fell last night. I am in court in 3 months time for assaulting the snowplough driver with an ice pick. Can't move my f***ing toes. Haven't seen the sun for 5 weeks. Minus 20 & more bastard snow is forecast.

Got none! Went for a 120 mile ride yesterday. 35* F and annoyingly sunny!

Loved your video Schoot! Good to see some dark smoke billow out the stack of a JD tractor. Think it was about time to get out the D8?

NONE! And it's been above freezing the last two days! My wife is vacationing on the Gulf coast of Texas and yesterday it was about 3* warmer here, 3,600 kms north, than it was there.
