    Why do I ride?

    1.) It's fun
2.) Stress reliever. Ya can't focus on the crap going on in your life and stay alive at the same time when you are riding.
3.) Not everyone can or will do it so riding is kind of special
4.) I enjoy planning trips, performing routine maintenance, and overcoming issues that detract from the experience. i.e. rain, heat, cold, fatigue, boredom etc.
5,) The risk involved makes an otherwise mundane yet rewarding life more exciting
6.) Been doing it for 40+ years. Can't see a reason to stop......... yet!

Great vid schooter. Last summer my dad found out he had throat cancer and the weekend before he started treatment we dusted off his old BMW and me and my brother took him out riding for the day. It was one of those day's I will remember the rest of my life the look on his face was priceless.

Just goes to show you don't know what jewels you'll fid in the threads here till you look. I've buried more friends and family in the past few years from these killer diseases than I care to recall. Being on the road helps put things in perspective. This is one video I'll watch over and over. Thanks schooter.

    Hmmmm, why do I ride?
For me, it's a sense of accomplishment.
Whether I'm just out for an afternoon run, going long distance and putting up with sore knees an aching back and tender butt, or (when I used to) when I was a the track racing. At the end of the ride or the end of the day, I'd climb off and say to myself I did it.
I don't want to go all "Zen", but there is just something about you and the bike, out on the road on your own with the purpose just being the ride, that's why I ride.
