Since I already have a very nice xs650 bobber, I would like to turn my xj 650 seca into a cafe of sorts. can anyone tell me if the tins from a 550 seca will automatically fit my 650 seca?

They pretty much won't fit at all. Tank too narrow, way too short. Sidecovers completely different. Tailsection mounts to the bike, not the seat.

I've got both, that's how I can be sure. The 650 Seca is about a foot and a half longer than the 550 because of the middle gearbox, and the bodywork was resultantly "stretched."

Thank You, That is what I kinda thought. I liked the shorter tins and sidecovers and was curious of the difference in frame. Thanks again

It's the shaft vs. chain drive; not only is the shaftie considerably longer, it weighs another 100lb more as well.

Thanks, I guess I always figured the only stupid question is the one I don't ask. Thanks for your help.

It will still bolt straight up to the 650 mount though, the 650 tank is a better looker anyway, it's what I have fitted to my 550
