Hey everyone, I'm a new rider and XJ owner from Florida and after lurking for a little while I have decided to join xjbikes!

I got my 81 XJ750 seca from some relatives of mine a few months ago. It was sitting in their garage for around 10 years and has quite a few miles on it (almost 57k!), but I've managed to get it running again with no major mechanical problems so far, although there are still several items on my to-do list.

I have read about the rear brake delamination warnings. When I brought the bike into a local shop to have a new back tire put on it, I had them check for this and they said the brakes were good, so I believe I'm safe for now.

That's my story so far. Thanks to everyone for providing such a great resource for these bikes!

Welcome from the Carolinas! Personally would have spent the 20 bucks for new back brakes while the tire was off. Hope it's on your to-do list still, lol. I don't know much about the 750's, but I'm sure from what I've read that you're going to love it! Let us know how you progress and pictures are always cool too 8)
