    Hi All,

I bought a clutch cover to polish up (so I can just swap with mine) off ebay for my '82 Seca and I'm wondering; How does one remove that black rubber looking trim ring?

Can someone give me some pointers?

    Thanks!

    George

Gee Wiz, give the guy a bit more to go on.

It's not an o-ring, it's a raised ridge on a rubber piece that's sandwiched between the two sections of the cover. The cover is actually two parts. When you unbolt the center "insert" from inside the cover, it frees that rubber part.

    Dang,

Now I need to redeem myself for asking such a lazy question.

While following Fitz's excellent tutorial on changing/checking the valve shims I discovered a very easy way to get those damn rubber washers on the valve cover bolts.

Stay tuned, I just uploaded them and apparently they need to be checked by the administrator to ensure this site stays free of non-motorcycle porn. I'll post a new thread with the bolt washers as the topic.
