I have a growing dislike for cops. I know there are good and bad but, this is my experience from Halloween last year that strengthens my dislike.
Enjoy my video about some police disagreeing with my costume.

I'm starting to. Definitely not the same breed as what I grew up with. I've always had a healthy fear of them because I was usually out making trouble with friends growing up. But things are on a completely new level now. All I'm seeing anymore are sell out, revenue nazis out there stealing our money and abusing people. Sorry good cops, it's up to you to fix the bad reputation that cops are getting these days, or quit being a cop. I am a veteran, and have also sworn an oath, twice actually, so don't hate on me for pointing out the obvious. It's not just me, trust me. Most of the good ones have already smelled the coffee and got out.

    Peace,

    Mac

I guess I have no reason to dislike them. They are piece officers and they deserve respect I guess, some more than others of course. I don't have nothing to hide or do stuff wrong (most of the time) so I guess I have no beef with them. They have bad days too.

Umm... no. One of my best friends was a small-town cop who was killed by a drunk driver on his way home from a midnight shift.

My brother was an Arizona Highway Patrol officer for a while (before rejoining the military because it was safer.)

Or dad was an MP (Air Force.)

I work with County Sheriff's vice, narcotics, IAD, Warrant Enforcement, on a daily basis. SWELL buncha guys, (except for the few a-holes.)

One of my team's brother is a Detroit cop. HE is one cool dude, not a butthead whatsoever; a sincere guy who cares about the community he lives in and patrols.

"Hating" an entire profession because of a few (ok, quite a few) unprofessional jerks is unreasonable.

However, if you want to hate lawyers, go ahead.

Having spent 11 years as a Police Officer I have to agree with them. The shirt you had on could have been seen as trying to look like a Police Officer due to the fact it had a badge on the front. once you put a badge and name of a Police department on the shirt that looks like the ones worn by the Police it becomes an official uniform. As far as ladies wearing fake uniforms you should have had your boobs sticking out like they do. I will admit that there are some bad ones. But in all there are way more good ones than bad ones. In my experience there are alot more bad citizens who think they are curbside lawyers that have no clue of the law than there are bad cops. Just a retires cops outlook.

I got a seat belt ticket while sitting in a parking lot a while back.

I think the thing that gets most people to dislike cops is people talk about when they are jerks but not so much when they aren't. That and you never even saw the cop that decided not to pull you over today for a minor infraction, but you sure as heck remember the one that did.

Hey, I got an "impeding" ticket (instead of a whopping 61 in a 50) from a motor officer who hated his Harley, vastly preferring the 'Wing in his garage. He thought my Seca was cool, but still gave me the $155 ticket. No points, though (that was the "impeding" part.)

Now how ya gonna hate a guy like that?

Go lure a lawyer over a cliff instead.

No there were some I refused to work with because I did not want to be involved in thier crap. I am talking about the video you posted. Once you wore the shirt with Tulsa Police written on it with a Badge on the front then that could be looked at as trying to pass yourself off as a Police Officer. That is the type of Uniform worn by Vice, Narcs, Gang units,ETC. If I get stopped or get a Ticket as yes I have since I retired I wont argue with them on the side of the road. I will wait for my day in Court and it is then I make them look like a dipshit. I lost a good friend who was killed by his next door neighbor and friend of ten years. So until you have walked a mile in thier shoes you can not hate the profession.

What really gets me about people is if they get stopped or questioned about something it is bullshit. But if something happens to them the Police are the first ones to get the call and usually it is the same Police officer you cussed when you got stopped that is there helping when you call. And is willing to give his life to keep you safe regardless of how bad the cussing he recieved was. Most people dont have the guts or the heart to be a Police Officer.

I guess it was hard to tell I was at a costume party on Halloween night with 50 other civilians in cop costumes.
They were just pissed because I was making fun of the ex cop/ criminal that was sitting in jail.

There are 100 different arguements i could present and it wouldnt do any good. You want to look at it as they were being Assholes and I cant change that. I just hope you realize that one of those Assholes will take a bullet for you to make sure you are safe because that is what they do.

It's not the law enforcement that I have a problem with, it's the laws themselves. If you have to resort to nearly criminal techniques to catch someone breaking a law, then maybe that law should be seriously reexamined.

The most hateful speech I ever heard about cops came from a former cop. Even then it was mostly about how they like to enforce the "law" even if the law is ridiculous, like wearing your seatbelt while parked.

The cop that pulled me over because my new (to me) bike's registration wasn't current (was on the tag!) was nice enough though.

I do thing any cop that doesn't want to be videotaped doing their job should be closely examined. There is always going to be a problem when someone has lots of power with no oversight.

    I don't hate cops -- don't think I ever could.

I think the crotchety attitude that comes with most police officers is because the same officer that has to pull people over for driving like an idiot is the same officer who has to respond, become part of, and risk his life in a shootout.

All those trivial things like when they give you a speeding ticket, or tell you that the neighbors complained about your loud music, or tell you your shirt is too close to a uniform -- are those things that make an officer simply annoyed, and that's the only side we really experience.

Regardless, I can see both sides in the video you posted. You have no intentions of impersonating an officer to manipulate people. It's all good fun. On the other hand, people are unpredictable (not referring to you, but the people who see your costume) and who knows how they'll react -- even at a costume party, or in the officer's eyes, if you leave the party and associate with plain clothed folk.

If one of them wants to take a bullet he might have mental problems.
I have a buddy that is on the same police force.
I believe he is in it for the thrill of physically hurting people.

It's the same as any profession, in respect to it attracts the type of people that "fit" in to a particular mindset. I saw the same thing in the military. The airborne attracted a wide variety of personality types, the rangers a little less variety. It's the people at the top that you have to look at, who facilitate and foster a certain mentality for their ranks. Unfortunately, the way the world is going now, alot of leo's are door kickers fresh from the sandbox and they don't have the same "value" system as Bob from down the street that you went to high school with. Look at the system, look at the top, and you'll see what the real issues are. Sociopaths have a strange way of getting high in the ranks and then letting their bullsh*t bleed down. Look at your typical HR department, full of ass kissers, but the top is almost always the worse. Just saying....don't hate the player, hate the "game"? would that make more sense?

No he does not have mental problems it is the oath he takes when he accepts the job. Like I said there are bad ones and it sounds like your friend is the top of the list of the worst. Hs is the ones you need to watch and wonder how many people he has beaten and wrote in his report it "I had to do that to effect the arrest." Hs is the one good cops stay away from to not get caught up in the trouble he will find himself in one day. If he is in it to physically hurt people he is no better than the one you were making fun of with your sign nad he should be behind bars also.

All I know, is when the SHTF, you better be coming correct! Once the land is lawless, all we have as guiding principles is the bill of rights and constitution, and of course, the Bible if you are a Christian. Regardless, if they take away the 4th and 5th amendments, and god forbid the tenth, then the second will be last, and it might be the last thing they hear if they cross the line. Pick a side gentlemen, bullets aren't opinionated, they hit the bone when it's necessary........don't tread on me or mine, got it? lol

    p.s. it really isn't funny!

Bill, buddy! You need to un-twist your panties and get over it! I would agree that bad cops making the news probably winds the members of the force up pretty tight but it would have probably been better to just comply than to make a big scene. Maybe ask what you could do to make your costume LEGAL.

Who cares? It was a costume. Save your outrage for something worthwhile!

I only gave my kids two pieces of advice as they were growing up.

    1. Don't stop driving until you are upside down in the ditch with the wheels spinning in the air. If you stop driving sooner you will for sure wind up in the ditch.

    2. Fight only the battles that a: You know you can win or b: the battles where so much is at stake that it is worth the risk of losing. The example I used for the latter was the right to vote for women.

It would seem that your situation fit none of the criteria above.

    Just sayin........

Both metaphor and literal. This originally came about while observing their mother when she would pass trucks while driving on the freeway. You should see it. She all but covers her eyes and dives under the dash.

Never give up until the fight is truly over.

I hated writing tickets and the only thing I would write one for no matter what was running a stop sign or red light. The other times if you passed the POP test (pissed off the police). I would just run the license and give them a warning.

Arizona cops seem to be very good people. I know quite a lot around here. It is fun though, a lot of them seem like the kind of goofy guys you went to school with.

But you do get those couple that are just complete dicks for no reason. In all honesty though, the good ones far outnumber those bad ones where I live. And we have like 4 police factions that have their jurisdiction within this 7 mile highway strip the entire town I live in is built around.

You will always have those with the Tackleberry complex. and yes it is those I love to F%$ with and make look like dipshits in court. Several of the cops in my home town didnt like me. I had a 64 Elcamino that i had since high school. It had a 400hp small block with headers 2 1/2'' exhaust glass packs and 3'' exhaust tips. well we got drunk one night and a buddy dared me to cut the mufflers off. Another buddies dad owned a muffler shop so we went and cut them off. The Tackleberry officer wrote me a ticket for loud mufflers. when we got to court i was found not guilty due to not having mufflers. The judge said it should have been for loud exhaust. He got pissed off and went to wait on me to get back on the road little did he know I had a floor jack and header mufflers in the bed. so before I left I put the mufflers on. He stopped me just like I figured and already had the ticket filled out. I restarted the truck and said its not loud and drove off and left him standing there with a dumb look on his face. So no I dont like all cops but do love the profession.

And he has more common sense in his big toe then most others have in total. He's right about "prison shouldn't be nicer then home life". If you don't want to eat slop, DON'T BREAK THE LAW!

I don't owe you a decent meal if you rob me or steal from my brother, I simply owe you enough to keep you from starving, maybe. With the rate of returns, it's obvious that all the wasted money on "rehabilitation" has been a crock and a lie from the beginning. Don't spend MY tax money on those "programs", they don't work.

"A study by the University of Nevada, Reno on recidivism rates across the United States showed that Arizona has the lowest rate of recidivism among offenders compared to all other U.S states at only 24.5 percent" It's only 24% because of the other counties....Yup, Big Joe has the right idea!!!

My girl friend is a criminal defense Attorney. She has so much repeat business I can not understand how the heck these people stay OUT of jail.
She says cops lie on the stand ALL the time as well.

Bill, where are you going with this? If you feel your civil rights were violated with the Halloween costume issue find an attorney through your girlfriend who will take your case pro bono and sue the socks off the cops. I doubt you would find anyone willing to take on a case as frivolous as this. If you can then more power to you.

You have contributed to this site in the past but this one has gone on long enough. Please give it a rest my friend and concentrate on your motorcycle contributions.

As for cops lying on the stand? I'm sure it happens and probably more than most of us would like to think. When they get caught they pay the price just like everyone else.

As far as repeat business for your defense atty girlfriend goes how does this reflect on the police? If it weren't for the police the defendant wouldn't be in court. Your issue here is with the judicial system not the police.

    Go in peace,

    Loren

If I am violating xjbikes rules by posting this in GENERAL LOUNGE I will gladly remove it but, I have read plenty of non- xj related postings here.

Im not really going anywhere with this. I wanted to get a thread going on this subject. I totally apologize if you find it offensive and if thats the case.. move on. This is a excellent subject (as i see it) but it does seem a little crazy.

I have no interest in suing anyone or it would have been done and over with already.

Let me know if I have violated xjbikes rules and I will remove the post.

I have always had a serious problem with the police. Most are thieves, others are dishonest at the very least. They harass, they lie, and then they ask if they can seach my car. I ALWAYS tell them no, if they want to search, get a warrent,I've got time, I'll wait. I've never had to wait. they never have gotten a warrent because they know they have no probable cause that would stand up in court. Speeding is not probable cause. Neither is failing to use a signal or any other traffic violation, with the possible exception of driving under the influence.

    ^^^

Back when i had my s10 and cared about it- waxed it kept inside clean. Homecoming night i got pulled over for going 59, asked where i was going, friends house i said, so he wanted to search my truck, i said no, I didnt even have any beer or anything, so he told me to step out i did, closed my doors, and waited, they actually brought the k-9 unit from 15 miles away while i waited. the dog came and sniffed around my truck, JUMPED on the doors, i could hear his claws scraping my paint, i get padded down as well, and then the cop reaches his arm in my window to try and grab the stuff on my dash, i told him he couldnt do that, he just sneered at me. so after an hour of being pulled over i didnt even get a ticket, instead a couple of my parents friends drove by and it was all over...

frankenbiker- they only need probable cause to search a vehicle, no warrant needed.

I'm not a fan of the personality-type that is prevalent in the profession of policing. I can't say I hate them all - that's not really fair. But in general, I prefer to avoid them, as 90% of my police-experiences have been negative and in some cases resulted in violations of my civil rights.

I totally understand the anger, and passion some of the members have - on both sides.

I wish things were different, and the police weren't hated by such a large portion of North American society. Maybe one day things will change...
