Ok, got this bike home yesterday, replaced plugs and bypassed petcock and fuel pump to get it running. Before I did this she would not fire. How do I diagnose the fuel pump? Also, the po had an inline filter and the way it was plumbed looked like it may have been preventing flow (the way the line was looped) thanks guys.

you should hear the fuel pump click like crazy if there's no fuel. once fuel has filled up the carbs the click don't happen so much.

i don't remember right off the top of my head. but the test for my suzi is something like .6 litre per minute i think. i'd have to look at the book.

it sucks that they can't list an actual pressure rating. like how cars are tested.

Well after priming the carbs by lifting the tank and hooking it straight to the fuel rail, then hooking everything back together without the in line filter it started drawing fuel. Let it warm up and it sounds pretty good. Still not running perfectly but its got year old gas in it, it stumbles a little if I crack the throttle too quick and runs a little muddy. Going to put in fresh gas tomorrow. Waiting for UPS to bring my battery so I can go ride it. This whole time I've had it jumped to the battery out of my Honda.

charged the old battery over night and it had enough juice for a quick ride. took it to the gas station and put 2 gallons of high test in it. man is this a fun bike!! only thing is it's got a flat spot between like 3k rpm and 6k rpm...thinking i might have to take those carbs off after all.
