I started doing some research on rear differential ratios. I am showing all 650-700-750s differentials interchanging with virago units early. I show the final drive ratio being a 4.1 on xjs later model viragos have a 3.20 ratio. These numbers are out of service manuals. I just happen to have a later model extra differential. All year virago wheels are supposto interchange. I have the wheel off my maxim x right now will check make sure it does fit it. If someone has a spare differential and can help me out maybe we can find a cheap way to lower rpms. Check how many revolutions the drive shaft spins to 1 revolution of the other wheel gear. If this will work you will have to change the driveshaft into the virago unit but will drastically lower rpms
The numbers out of the books could be wrong this is the only sure way to tell

Later models 89- show a different number. Earlier models are the same as the xj. Thats why i am trying to find someone with an extra xj differential so we can compare number of turns the driveshaft turns to 1 revolution of wheel drive gear. I have a later model chunk but nothing to compare it to. I am not gonna pull the one out of my bike to compare it to. Someone should have 1 laying around to compare it to
