put in the carbs, got fuel lines hooked up, turned on the flow, and fuel pukes out the air box. dunno why cant see into it to find the source.

Floats are not seating, or stuck. This sometimes happens after a carb overhaul, tap the carbs with a rubber mallet a few times. If that does not help and you can't see exactly where the fuel is leaking from then the carbs will have to come out again.
Did you do a fuel level check while the carbs were out?

Float levels checked? I'd smell the oil cap and hole also to see if it's going into the crankcase. I'm assuming it did this while running, not just when turned to prime? Cuz that would really be crazy, lol.

no. did not do a fuel level check while they were out. and its doing it while in the ON position, not the prime.

Stuck or misadjusted floats. Pull the rack; they need to be set "wet" anyway, but they do have to be set correctly. Float levels have a tolerance of 3mm total +/- and are critical to how the bike runs.

    Like macros said.........
Definitely check the oil for a gassy smell and change before trying to run the bike. If as much gas came out as you said some may have gone down through the pistons and contaminated the oil.

Presuming you have a vacuum type tap fitted and you were in the on position and "if" the bike was not running, you have a badly leaking petcock. Search on "petcock" to find out how to fix it.

Oh and welcome to the circus - pls put your bike details in your visible profile so we can diagnose easier

I think what he was saying was that he hooked up the petcock wrong - put the 'gasoline out' line to the 'vacuum in' line

i sure hope you didnt try to start it. if you did there is a very good chance you ruined the motor especially if the intake valve was open on that cyl. if you havnt pull the plug the vac line is hooked to and crank it over without a plug. Gas does non compress will take a piston out bend a rod or hammer the bearing flat
