    It seems the PO had some sort of vacuum issue. He disconnected and plugged the vacuum line to the petcock. Any idea why he would do that?

    Maybe the petcock has a ruptured diaphragm. So you've been running on "PRI" all this time; or has the petcock failed so completely it flows fuel no matter what position it's in?

    I had to call the how-to "Rebuilding the Yamaha Vacuum Fuel Valve" or somesuch nonsense because "petcock" wasn't allowed in a title without getting automatically censored.

    It's in "FAQ Suggestions."
