as far east as you can get in michigan 43.027407,
a member of my riding club has a 750 maxim and had his coils go bad. or A coil go bad...

i pulled the coils off my 750R to loan to him until he gets his delivered later next week or early the week after...

after i pulled them off and gave them to him, i thought, do they have matched plugs so the TCI will fire the proper cylinder in the right order or am i going to be 'guessing' as to which plugs into which?

i guess if i have no start then i can always swap the connections but i really prefer to have things right the first time and not add to the the troubleshooting list of things to check...

As you no doubt noticed when you removed them, the plugs for both coils are the same. Which coil fires when is determined by which plug on the wiring harness you connect them to.

It should be fairly straightforward; the connector on the left side of the backbone fires 1/4, and the other 2/3, if memory serves.

Failing that, there's my Dyna Coils install writeup which should show which wire colors go to which coil.

I don't believe that they're "idiot proof" however the plug wires probably aren't long enough to reach the wrong side, if you were to mix them up. I think it's 1-4 on the left and 2-3 on the right as Schmuck said.
