    Sure is.

Look VERY CAREFULLY at the pipes; it's usually down right where they join to the collector. Each exhaust pipe has an abbreviated part number on it; on my 550s it says "YAMAHA 4G0-1," "-2," "-3" and "-4." The "dash-1" is the number one pipe, etc. On the 550s it's on the left side of the pipes, your may be in a different location, but if they're stock Yammie pipes the part number is on them somewhere.

Thanks, I checked some online photos and the numbers are located right where you said they would be. Now I just need to undo a few inches of header wrap to read them all...grr...arrgh!

Oh, c'mon the little "dash" numbers are't that far from the ends.

Question about header wrap (just askin' because I can't figure it out) doesn't it GET DIRTY? Like when you get caught in the rain? Then what?

Since we're on the topic, I assume they go back on in order 1,2,3,4 starting on the shifter side?...

the wrap is purely for cosmetic purposes, black wrap, silicone coated...

1-4 left to right as you sit on the bike.

OK, so it's black and silicone coated. Doesn't it have kind of a "fabric" surface? Doesn't it get dirty and then how do you clean it? What happens to the cosmetic value after 6 hours riding in the rain? Does it "weld" together and stick to the pipes?

I would honestly like to know; the headers on my 650 will never be chrome again and I'm considering all options but I can't see how that stuff can hold up, looks-wise, once dirty.

I'll let you know how the wrap holds up. If it ends up as lousy as you say, I can always peel it off and powder coat'em.

Re: the number-- yes it is.

I didn't say it was lousy, I was asking. Powder coat doesn't work (too hot) but Jet Hot Coating does. That's what I'll probably do, since no plater will touch old dual-walled exhaust pipes.
