I know there are several threads on here about having to search for neutral and topics surrounding that. I was having the same problem and just replaced my clutch plates, seems better but I'll know more when I can get it out on a test ride. I would have to roll back and forth to find neutral alot of times and when downshifting, could almost never find it unless it was by accident, lol, but I haven't had my bike long either so it could just be me. Please put your location and bike info in your signature so people can help you easier and don't forget to try the search function to search for your various issues on here. Welcome to the site!

Also much easier if the clutch is adjusted tightly.

    See: http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=31120.html

I tightened up the slack in my cable to just looser than zero lash and it made a world of difference to finding neutral and not clunking into gears.

    Cheers

Hello matt..from 1st to neutral is not much movement on the gear lever, just a little nudge really.. much th same for 2nd to neutral. Maybe your clutch cable / levers need adjusting heres a link to a coupla days ago,
